LCA & LCPS Eco Transport Challenge - ETC

Lane Cove ALIVE and Lane Cove Public School are helping to reduce carbon footprints, by promoting healthy lifestyle choices and lessening the reliance on the family car to drop children off at school in the mornings.  With the assistance of an NRMA Insurance grant and with the help of the ACF (Australian Conservation Foundation) GreenHome Champions Program run recently by Lane Cove Council, LCA & LCPS are challenging all students to walk, ride, scooter or car pool to come to school over the next 10 days.

Lane Cove ALIVE is really excited about being able to assist local retailers with business makeovers. Fresh Logo designs, strategically placed merchandise and stunning new colours for walls will all add to the magic of the revitalization of Lane Cove Village.

Melbourne based Visual Merchandising Consultant, Ching Ching Lee has been back to Lane Cove following her successful ‘Inspirasi 2010’ presentation in May, to deliver the final inspired designs for four Lane Cove businesses.

Laughing Ganesha (Indian Restaurant), Lane Cove Optical, Diva’s Kloset and Spices of Asia, all located along Longueville Rd are thrilled with Ching Ching’s logo designs and achievable makeovers.  Lane Cove ALIVE, Project Manager, Bronwyn Clarke, explained that there were now a total of 11 businesses which have received Visual Merchandising advice and another 7 businesses have received a program marketing mentoring from Linda Hailey.  It is fantastic to know that Lane Cove businesses have had the benefit of such expertise.

We look forward to seeing the changes over the next 12 months. The first Lane Cove businesses that undertook the initial makeovers in 2009 are already recording improved sales.
